But sometime after Frodo was like.. bowed to and before he sailed off into an extremely ambiguous sunset, it started to dawn on the viewer. This battle, these battles, they weren’t fought for nothing.

But if you had critical thinking skills you sat there after the 8th and final ending of that movie and you reflected.

Would Sam and Frodo ever see each other again? Only they really know. But Frodo was at peace and Sam was home.
