'For Someone' (Lyrical Poem)

For the first time in my whole life,
I saw myself today as I really am.
From strength to strife to courage,
All a grand plan.

So long live the righteous.
and let freedom reign!
Damn the Oscars, the hell with the Grammy’s,
I aspire to be sane.
For someone to give my name.

So what if the fame follows?
So what if I wallow, in pity, in fear, in pain?
What matters to me…is ‘we’, is you and I the same.
Be it a castle or a sty, have you ever felt you were one with another?

My brothers, I won’t give up.
Yeah things can be tough.
But I think that’s the real stuff of growth.

My mothers, yes I got up.
I can feel the love.
And I see now it’s enough to be proud of myself.

This isn’t a goodbye, or a final word either.
It’s a reflection of myself, that floats in the ether.
The coffee black, add some sweetener.

I respect myself.
I’m a good one.
I’m messed up, but…for someone.
On life and living, it’s a weird adventure.
To be a good guy was what I was sent for.
And that’s enough I’m so sure.
There's nothing to know more than that.
