Sophomore rush/bid
by: user2627How likely is it to rush and not get a bid at all? I’m rushing in the fall but I’ll be a sophomore so I’m just curious to see my chances. I didn’t rush as a freshman but I do have some friends in most of the sororities, although I’m not sure if that really helps at all

That is patently false. No one who starts the process is guaranteed a bid. The sororities are choosing their own members and are not obligated to take anyone. Only pnm's who are invited to the pref round are guaranteed a bid, IF they list both houses on their card. The recruitment process does help pnm's maximize their chances of getting a bid, and that rate is high, but not 100%. Most pnm's who don't get a bid are self dropouts from the process, but there are a few each year who are released by all houses. Freshmen are more desired than sophomores, and the selection process reflects that.
