This amount of pnms is getting overwhelming and it’s only going up - we NEED more sororities asap but instead we keep bullying them off campus
And I know dmn well that we’re never gonna get a unanimous vote for any new chapter like dz or dg

Totally forgot to add, we also used to have Theta but the lore with that is crazy and they will never come back to UNC.

Even though they were strong, Nationals shut them down because they weren’t top house and sold the house to the Lutheran church that’s now on Rosemary St near APhi and AXO. They made the girls living in house move out during midterms with nowhere to go. It was awful.

There are 26 panhel sororities, we have 9 of them, and have lost 5 of them. That leaves 12 new orgs that could come with expansion. However, some of those orgs aren’t strong enough nationally to establish on a campus like UNC where housing would cost millions to secure and you risk being bullied off within a few years anyways. In summary, panhel needs a major attitude shift or it will continue ripping through sororities until there aren’t any new options. Sure chapters can return, but if chapters have such a terrible experience at unc from bullying, they aren’t going to want to return or see it as a viable/smart option.

We’ve already had/have pretty much all the chapters that could afford the real estate here unfortunately. I agree with the last commenter that panhel here needs to change and fast otherwise unc Greek life is going to eventually die

DZ built the house across the street from union on Hillsborough. Most recently housed Acacia for the last 2 years and Alpha Sig a few years ago. I think right now it’s being used as international student housing.

I don’t think a tradition of bullying and ostracism is a tradition we should be proud of or judge other schools for not having.

Just adding on to this. DZ lasted 15 years but ultimately shut down because PNMs didn’t like their house location. Delta Phi Epsilon lasted 15 years too before closing because of housing problems.
