Will PNMs be notified before Pref Round?(please help)

My younger sister is rushing at UNC. What happens if she is not invited back to any pref parties? Will she be called ahead of time, or would she show up at her GX meeting and then find out?
I'm trying to be prepared and I don't want to ask her bc I don't want her to think that I'm expecting this. So, please help me out!

pnm's are called ahead of time so they can avoid that scenario
