Snap bids this year?
by: SnapsEvery year MOST of the srats give out snap bids. I personally know girls in XO, KD, DDD who have gotten into their houses this way. It is not limited to houses that typically struggle. That being said … with the crazy increase this year, do you foresee many (or any) giving snap bids?

You are confused, most chapters do not snap bid. That only happens if a chapter doesn't reach quota during bid matching and they snap bid to get to quota before bids are opened. Snap bidding is not common.
What you are talking about is Continuous Open Bidding, which happens if a chapter is under Campus Total membership. Total is reset right after bid day based on average chapter size. That number this year will be higher because of larger NM classes and by the absence of Kappa, whose smaller membership brought down the average a bit. The crazy increase will not affect COB, Campus Total will, but that is proportional to the current membership numbers as usual. COB is def more of a thing for spring though, after December graduations make some openings.

No it happens when a sorority doesn’t have a high yield after Pref round. This happens to KD every year because they are everyone’s second choice.
