Why do y’all keep calling people poor?

I keep seeing people comment stuff about others faking being rich or some girl posted about girls having second hand golden gooses, something like that. I just wanna ask what are y’all on, sometimes I feel stupid because I’ve been in Greek life for two years and I’ve yet to notice anything sus like that. I feel like you guys are lying or maybe just exaggerating.
