spring rush

by: Sororitywannabe

So, my roommate convinced me not to rush because she is super anti Greek but I really wish I had because I feel like I need to find sisterhood at UNC so I can start branching out. When will I find out which sororities are spring rushing? Also if no good ones do spring rush will I get a bid as a sophomore from a good house?

any sororities that didnt meet their quotas will do spring rush. if you decide to rush as a sophomore youre all but guaranteed one of the best ones (DDD, ADPi, XO,KD)

Sorry I'm confused but does "all but" mean I'll most likely get a bid from a top house?

probably better to rush next year because most of the top houses had a lot of girls wanting them so they met their quota. every sorority has to take a rushee from every year. so each sorority has to take a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, they can't take all freshman etc. hence, you'll have better luck at a top house by rushing as a sophomore!

It's actually a lot easier to get a strong house as a sophomore with the recently added quote system that all sororities have to abide by. However, you can still find a great sisterhood in some of the houses that will be participating in spring rush.

a lot of houses that you wouldn't expect to do spring rush do it because of the rule about meeting campus quota. i would absolutely give spring rush a try because you dont have to commit either way. i know a lot of sophomores who got burned in fall rush.

if you do spring you might be stuck with kkg or sigma. you don't want that. ew

its good to try spring rush and see if you like the houses, even if you don't join till next year. and what is wrong with kkg? did you really need to rudely say "ew" when describing sororities?

If you want XO as a sophomore though, keep up your GPA

The problem with kkg is that they aren't the same time of girls that join tri-delt, xo, adpi and kd, and they definitely don't care about tiers

No, this person didn't know what they were talking about either. Back in 2013 XO was still pretty much on probation so it was actually harder to get bids as they had to keep up their GPA. It's hard to get into any sorority as a sophomore of you don't have stellar grades.
