rushing a sorority as a junior
by: u of II'm transferring in the fall as a junior and am interested in rushing a sorority! Do sororities accept juniors? Is rushing as a junior awkward? Coming from community college not really sure about the whole rush process but I think it would be a great way to meet people and make friends! Any girls out there have experiences rushing as a junior? Thanks!!!

typically there's only a very small handful of juniors allowed to rush for each sorority (its based of their quota they're allowed to fill of juniors). The junior bids are also usually given to girls who already hung out at the house a lot and knew all the girls by association. Rushing as a junior for a sorority at UIUC is pretty difficult and your selection pool will be small.

While it may be difficult to achieve a bid, you are always welcome to participate in recruitment. COB and/or informal recruitment may be an option if you haven't the time or interest for formal rush.
