is sophomore rush really that brutal?

I keep hearing from girls who feel like they had less to choose from rushing as a sophomore. How much worse should I expect it to be? Like would I probably go down a tier?

Someone who just wants to be fully prepared and understand the difference between freshman and sophomore rush? How is this not an appropriate question on a site based on ranking?

I rushed this year as a sophomore and it was pretty bad due to the large amount of people rushing. I got middle and bottom houses, and as nice as they were, I couldn't see myself joining the three I had left.

You don't get the houses you want. The system is set up to primarily serve freshman. You're worth less monetarily.

Don't listen to everyone else on this thread, my friends and I all rushed as sophomores and we ended up in pretty decent houses. I got my #1. Don't give up hope! It's a little different for juniors however

I rushed as a sophomore and was chosen by "top" houses multiple times but turned them down. If you have a good personality and you're good at girl flirting you can go anywhere you want my dear don't fret
