phi mu, anyone?

by: oh well

I got the dreaded phone call this morning, and I was very sad, because I loved all the houses I saw during the 2nd invitational, but for whatever reason not one invited me to pref night.

I'm at peace with that. Mostly because I am getting really, REALLY pumped about the idea of trying for Phi Mu. They have a great reputation from what I've gathered and the experience of founding a whole new chapter (yes, I know that they were here before, but it's a fresh start now) is one not a lot of people get.

So is anyone else here going to Phi Mu recruitment?

Thank you! Do you think I should tell the recruiters I didn't get a bid at all or should I say I dropped? I'd hope these ladies wouldn't judge a PNM based on that but I don't want to take any chances.

I would address this that it was your choice. Something along the lines of as it got closer to the end you were
Not feeling connected to the houses remaining for you and didn't want to take away from PNMs who were. I would not tell them which houses. The recruiters should respect that privacy. Just my opinion

The recruiters will not have any formal recruitment information from Panhellenic so they will only know what you tell them. I wouldn't address it unless it comes up in an organic way. Then I would say that you started out knowing that Phi Mu was an option if you didn't feel a real connection to any other house and that you'd be excited to have the opportunity to be involved with starting a chapter.

Remember that Phi Mu will not just accept everyone, so be on your game when you visit with the recruiters. Good Luck!
