what is block?

Stupid question but I always thought it had to do with which sorority/fraternity yours goes to bars with...then I read it was mostly for underclassmen who aren't going to bars...

its basically our alternative to tailgating since the football team sucks. Houses pair up and go to bars saturday morning.

It's for underclassmen because the upperclassmen get tired of drinking on Saturday morning, but force newer members to go so their house does not look antisocial.

It;s a popularity contest, nothing more. Some good frats don't bother playing.
