engineering major + pledging

by: PotentialRushee

Realistically speaking, how difficult is it to pledge a fraternity while being an engineering major. I want to pledge a fraternity next year but am afraid that my grades will suffer heavily (I will be taking 16 hours worth of classes such as PHYS 211, MATH 231, etc. with a few gen eds). And specifically, I'm not interested in joining an engineering frat but would like to partake in more social aspects of fraternity life, so I would be pledging for one that has a lot of socials, exchanges, and the like. How hard will the semester be for me?

If you pledge a fraternity in engineering do it first semester or don't do it all. Your classes will just be harder after the first semester and freshman year first semester is the best time overall. Just look for a house that cares about school

Pretty sure there are engineers in every house. Just don't overdo it every at every party and have some self discipline, and you should be ok.

depends on how hard the frat hazes you and how smart/disciplined you are
