If you don't have a close connection who has already told you that you are getting a bid, don't bother. Plenty of other houses on campus that truly want to get to know you and care more about your looks and superficial things. Yes DG is historically considered a "top" house, but their rush process is the campus joke.

You're acting like everyone at illinois isn't from illinois and knows people who know people. You got a better chance at getting a bid from a top house from being smart or playing a sport in hs than being "pre" selected
