For anyone still looking for an answer.
I just up-rushed and honestly came from a state school with HUGE sororities and hardcore formal rushing. For incoming transfer students, if you are more reserved I say wait until the spring that way you get a fair chance to meet everyone. Although up-rushing is much more chill and laid back. I would look at the list in another thread describing each sorority because it does an almost perfect job.
