BIG FOUR REPS:

PKE: Party gurlllsss! Biggest org on campus and HARD partiers. Used to be a lot more granola-coolgirl-ish but after TKP got kicked off campus a few years ago it took a lot of their girls. Because of that it’s much more (in Sewanee terms, so not really) of a typical SEC sorority vibe than it used to be, just with a bunch of masc lesbians sprinkled in too lol. Also a lot of athletes (specifically wlax and field hockey)! Have a few leaders on campus and female firefighters tend to be PKEs too. Indisputably top house prob, and their actual house is super cute with a dope ass backyard. Overall pretty well liked on campus but their reputation has shifted a lotttt over the past few years because of the changes in the type of girls who rush it (not bad, just different. Senior PKEs and freshman PKEs are very diff groups rn). Pretty much impossible to get unless you put it as your #1.

Theta Pi: More chill but still major partiers and def most academically involved! They pretty much run alllll of the governing bodies of Sewanee (SGA, Order of the Gown, HC, Greek Council, etc.) Have a reputation as being very smart and leaders on campus. More down to earth and granola than PKE but they can attract a lot of the same kind of pnms. Also a bunch of very stereotypically Sewanee outdoorsy gals, and a lot of stoners. Kind of a mix of glitter and granola, & quite a few athletes too (golf, soccer, big mix). I would say most well liked overall of the big 4 srats. Second biggest org at Sewanee after PKE. Didn’t used to be but is now prob tied with TKP for second “best” on campus, they just pull different kinds of girls. Bates house is super cute and they have a good front yard. Hard to get unless you put it as your #1.

TKP: Most stereotypical “sorority” on campus. Also the first sorority on the mountain! So they have lots of cool history. Usually very very pretty girls, preppy vibe. It’s mainly girls who would go to an SEC school and be in a sorority there. Some athletes too, it’s really a mix of what sports though. Got kicked off campus a few years ago for hazing which damaged their rep (so they’re in a townhouse and only have one senior now lol) but it’s 100% still a top and very coveted org. Rep is changing quite a bit because of the fact PKE is pulling a lot of the usual TKP-ish girls but the identity is still there. They’re also partiers but in a different way. It’s a biiig legacy srat as well (moms, sisters, etc.). Super strong alumni base and great frat relations. Overall a great org and def tied (just very very different) with Theta Pi for number 2 right now, but harder to rush and harder hazing for sure. Pretty much impossible to get unless you put them as your #1.

ADT: More alternative/feminist/punk rock girls and really well loved across campus. Also very welcoming for LGBT members. Usually for pnms who wouldn’t rush at other schools but are still cool and well known on campus. They have a bunch of really awesome and unique traditions and prob the sickest house out of any sorority. Filled with super cool artists + Wick and CoHo girls. Also a lot of granola people, just a more alt-ish version of it. Overall a really awesome org that’s well respected by pretty much everyone and considered a top house here even if it doesn’t fit the stereotypical sorority mold.
