If this were a frat, they'd have a strike against them. Sororities (especially KKG) get preferential treatment because of $$$

What happens now if you're a pledge? Do you stick around see what happens? Cut your losses & drop now before your initiated to a house that's potentially kicked off? What a mess...

Isn't going anywhere. This is SMU, a private school that cares only about money. And these girls (the current actives) are the daughters of some of the wealthiest donors.

Unless that girl who got her vest pulled off of her wants to pursue civil damages charges against the sisters who "assaulted" her, nothing illegal can be proved to have happened on the part of the actives. One semester of probation, probably, if even that.

If you weren't there, you shouldn't have an opinion. Whatever happened was minor as HELL, so idk why people are saying Kappa is getting away with this because of money, when fraternities ACTUALLY haze their pledges. This was such a minor incident, and wasn't malicious in any way. Stop being so sensitive, especially those of you who aren't involved.

Not one girl there thought they were being hazed so why would anyone say that? Girls were dancing to music and a few got goofy, Many sororities do much worse at Spring break for goodness sake, and in PUBLIC. This is a nothing story and there are so many girls jealous of the top few houses at SMU they just want to make something of nothing. No underage drinking whatsoever happened either. It isn't that interesting, except that it has been an example of the game of telephone that demonstrates the distortion of information...I'm Not a Kappa btw. I just can't believe the lynch mob and wonder why this mentality is in play.

So if the girl didn't get kicked out of house for her behavior, and there was a video, does she still sue? Or is this retaliation for being embarrassed by being kicked out not the video?

Yep, I doubt she'd be suing if she hadn't been kicked out. The lawsuit followed closely in time to the expulsion, but she knew about the video in Jan. and didn't sue or ask for a restraining order then. If she were truly concerned about who had access to the video, she should have filed a TRO or injunction.

And, I feel bad for those kappas left who didnt participate in new member 'activities' who now have this hanging over them. Girl who acted inappropriately and got kicked out and couldn't just moved on is really messing it up for those girls who love kappa & did nothing wrong.

@awwwwwww (aka kappa) is slacking! Any logical, thoughtful, intelligent opinion is usually followed the oh so cutting "grandma" response. Maybe she's even grown annoyed of herself...
