SMU SORORITIES RANKING (END OF 1st SEMESTER)
by: .
Top:
Tri delt - Usually get the prettiest girls in general, have some partying “snow” queens and some Bible girls, but all are very social and mostly good looking. Have the most stereotypical sorotity blondes as well (used to be kappa not anymore) and mix with sae and phi delt mostly
Kappa - also a top sorority, if you’re really rich but not that pretty you can get in, they take wealth/connections over looks. Big partiers as well. Their internal sisterhood is ok but there is some drama occasionally, some other sororities have better internal relationships. Regular mixers with sae etc.
Lower Top:
Pi phi - used to be one of the top sororities but in the recent years they have descended a little in the ranks, they are not as relevant anymore. Still get a lot of pretty and wealthy girls but their social presence/status is a little lower than that of ddd and kkg. They used to be known for being the chillest/down to earth/likable top sorority, but recently, trying to regain their status, they took some blonde ddd/kkg wannabes that don’t represent pi phis legacy/reputation. They Mix with sig nu and sometimes phi delt
Upper Middle:
ChiO - more mixed bag than the top sororities but you could mistake some of their girls for top, they party more than other mid tier sororities and actually have decent sisterhood. They surpassed dg in their social reach a while ago and are doing better every year
Middle:
DG - more mixed bag girls, some more studious, some more into going out. Have a lot of internal division apparently, and a lot of wannabes
Upper Bottom:
AChiO - lots of very different girls, but most of them do get along
Bottom:
ADPi - you go here if you either don’t really care about social life or were dropped by ALL other sororities
#3by: Connections
Connections help some but it’s basically if you get along with the rest of the members in the house. Sometimes knowing someone connections will work against you. Jealousy old grudges dating rivalry. Sororities are made up of the same type of girls so they know them from grade school high school and camp. It’s not a major exclusive thing.

You have to consider all things. If you're going back to your home/area region, girls looking for future networking might look to pledge that sorority here before going back home. Pi Phi, Kappa, Theta usually good nationally, but can sometimes be weak in certain areas. Theta is weak overall in the South. Theta will EVENTUALLY be back on campus. Kappa doing ok, has managed to come through hazing/lawsuit a few years back. Pi Phi may be changing a little, but has had cali vibe in past here. Usually good almost everywhere (top one or two), Chi O is generally good nationally, but have the most chapters because they never close underperforming chapters. Tri Delt big in the South, but not always number one, but always usually in the top three at any Southern campus. ADPi used to be one of the top sororities here, but left in late '90s due to hazing and drug problems. They just came back last year, so they're starting at the bottom. They just came back last year. Probably will start working their way up. Usually one or two at many Southern schools. Pi Phi, Kappa, ADPi and Theta have very strong local alumni networks in Dallas, so there's that.

What "social events" are you imagining there are that you could go to as a non-member? Because Greek social events are between specific houses or invitation only from the members. What are these "social events" you aspire to roll up to because you're a girl?
