Closeness in sororities?? How do you know?
by: HelloSo I’ve heard people talk about good sisterhoods being close. How will you tell during recruitment?? Can you tell which chapters are tight knit and which aren’t? I wouldn’t want to join one where you don’t know majority of your sisters

they are. Don’t listen to what random weirdos on the internet say. You’ll be able to tell who is close throughout recruitment just by the conversations

You’ll end up being close with your PC and possibly your Big Sis friends (because that is who you spend time with). Most sisterhoods have 150-200 people. You won’t know them all. It will take time.
The vibe you get during recruitment is the vibe of the sisterhood. If they seem like girls you’d like, you’ll probably like them.
My advice is DO NOT pick a sorority on the name or “rank” (whatever the hell that validates) go by who you like.

The reason that you go through recruitment is supposed to be so you (and then) can find a fit. You can’t tell in recruitment if it’s a close sorority or not. Who the hell would even say to you “No we aren’t a close sorority?” But go ahead and ask that. Let us know if any of them say no.

U could definitely tell if you ask them questions about what sisterhood events have they loved, their favorite thing to do with sisters, and best memories in the sorority! Don’t listen to this person it’s a good question!

DZ being sisterly? They have one of the worst sisterhoods. And anyone with a brain knows SDT has NO status but they are close if anything they’re cliquey. And Axid has one of the worst sisterhoods. Rest are good I don’t know much about low tiers but they do seem close.

The Pi Phi girls are all really close with each other, them and Theta are genuine sisterhoods

Idk what DZ girls you talk to but my friend in DZ hangs out with her sisters more than any of us (we are all in sororities). you can very easily tell what girls are in it for the sisterhood during rush. ask sisters about how they met their closest sisters. don't listen to the girls trying to drag "competing" sororities down and see for yourself in the conversations you have during rush.

As a past recruitment president as them for some of their favorite memories/stories with sisters that weren’t main events. If they can tell u they do little things together like get food, go ice skating, grab coffee, they obvi hang out. If their only memories with sisters are large events like formal, THON, sisterhood retreat, they may not be as close if they can’t give examples of doing normal everyday things with each other! Good luck! And just be yourself!
