Be natural. Imagine if you and your friends were about to meet a new group of people to become friends with. You can maybe think up a few topics to bring up before you get there (not about parties) but just be natural without faking it. Talk to them like you would to any new person or potential friend. And of course, rush as many houses as possible to find which group you best fit in.
