I don’t think the cutoff is 3.0. I think the average range for most sororities Is between a 2.7 and 2.9. Tbh it’s hard to know for chapters outside of your own.
If you’re really worried, you could get a general idea from the sorority Greek Life score card that IFC/Panhel posts on their website.

Having been a new member Educator, I can tell you that GPA absolutely matters. The minimum needed to rush is 2.5, but most sororities look for 3.0 and above, and there are a few that require 3.25. I'm not saying you can't get a bid with a 2.5 but you will have to work harder or be really special.
