Yes! Tri-Sigma is going to be selective like any other sorority. The only difference is that alums and reps from nationals decide who to invite versus a active sisters. Actually, getting a bid for the first class of any new sorority is very competitive since these girls will set the tone for their chapter's future. Plus they will be extra choosy since this is Tri Sig's 2nd try here.

You think they take just anyone? Not any less selective being a new chapter. All those wimps who dropped out of rush thinking they're shoo-ins for Tri-Sig are going to be crying in their dorms without bids anywhere.
