The house thing is the future with sororitys- PhiSig was just ahead of the curve. Will it pay off - it already has. Word has it they were THE sorority following pref parties. Will other sororitys follow - you betcha. The biz buzz has it another sorority is in "negotiations" for another X-frat house.

sororitys are more strict about parties, but it definitely increases pressure on the sororities to get their own houses. There’s only so many in state college, and pi lam, beta, and zeta psi (maybe sig tau) are the only one with available houses rn. depending on the sorority, it seems like it would encourage reporting the frats to get them in trouble and take their house, but that’s a very cut throat mindset and i hope it wouldn’t get that far.

Also, a big rule with sorority houses is that no boys or men are allowed upstairs in them, sometimes even at the house at all. My friend who goes to another school wasn’t allowed to have her dad help her move into her house because there was a strict no men policy. They don’t even allow dads or brothers in the house. They want to make sure that houses are for sisterhood. With this information, the sororities that have great senior houses will continue to be the ones that are the most “fun” places to have parties and sorority houses will not affect social status.
