No one schedules informal a semester out. It typically occurs if a chapter doesn't make quota. Chapters won't know that until after recruitment happens. As for ESA and Trilogy, do you want to be Greek or not? These are clubs and are not part of the Greek community.

I’d hardly say ESA socials with good frats, and nobody wants to social with trilogy after the piazza incident.

Being Greek is a lot more than a social schedule. ESA might social with some of the same frats that Greek women do but they don't offer a lifetime of networking, a legacy for their future daughters, leadership development, pride in a national women's organization, a housing floor etc. If all you are interested in is finding a group of drinking buddies, these clubs may be an option. But, if you want a Greek experience, go through formal recruitment.
