Generally how much does it usually cost to join one of the sororities here/what are the average dues?

$500-700 a year including dues, all the sorority shirts you buy, all the money you spend on philanthropy, money for to chip in for drinks at social events, etc. it adds up.

$500 is on the really cheap side. first year runs into the thousands

if youre poor the 'top tier' sororities wont want you anyway, so that wont be a problem.
