getting to know the sororities before spring rush

So I was at Western over the summer for one of the academic programs and there were a lot of parties over the summer. A lot of girls that were there over the summer befriended a lot of girls from different sororities on campus. As for me, I didn't really get that opportunity to get to know some upper class men in different sororities. I am really interested in joining a sorority but I want to get to know some of the girls before the spring. I don't want to be left out of dropped because no one is the house knows me.
