UVA 2026 Sorority Rankings (Pre-Rush!)

Top Tier (these are the definitive top 3 that almost every girl wants when they rush):
Theta/Kappa, Tri Delt

Thoughts:
Theta and Kappa are both more regional, Theta being northern and Kappa being southern. Tri Delt is known for being international and having girls from anywhere, but all three create their PC's almost entirely through dirty rush. Connections and/or family wealth are generally a significant factor, and these are the sororities that mix with the top frats.

Upper Middle Tier (still pretty selective sororities, but not completely dirty rush):
Alpha Phi
DG, Pi Phi

Less dirty rush, but still looking for girls with a specific vibe/look:
Zeta, DZ

Thoughts: Although APhi does mix with all the top frats as well, there is definitely a divide in girls preferring the top 3 during rush. DG has had a comeback recently and seems slightly more popular than Pi Phi going into 2026, but Pi Phi is known for having really cool girls and genuine sisterhood, though their recent PC was a little weaker than the year before. Pi Phi is also pretty diverse and is one of the more inclusive sororities at UVA.

Zeta seems to be more popular than DZ after doing well in recruitment and having a good PC from last year. DZ generally has a great vibe, but had to COB last year, and the sisterhood from their most recent PC seems weaker. Both Zeta and DZ recruit similar girls, but DZ girls are generally more down-to-earth while Zetas are louder. I would put these 2 in the upper middle tier but slightly below DG and Pi Phi because of their friend group overlap moreso than with the lower-ranked sororities.

Lower Middle Tier (still have a traditional sorority vibe, but really only mix with mid-tier frats and less about connections):
XO, AXO

Thoughts:
XO rushed really well last year and had a great vibe, and overall seemed more popular with girls than AXO. AXO has a really great mix of girls and also has a great vibe, and the sisterhood is pretty genuine compared to some of the higher-ranked sororities. I could see AXO being more popular than XO this year though.

Upper Lower Tier (very inclusive sororities with great sisterhood, only difference is they don't get very highly-ranked DoorList):
SK, ADPi

Thoughts:
SK seems very genuine and did okay with recruitment last year, though they are definitely more popular than ADPi at this point. ADPi is typically known for having very involved girls in other orgs, and also has very down-to-earth girls.

Lower Tier (not very selective but great sisterhood nonetheless):
KD
Tri Sig

Thoughts: KD is known for having very genuine and fun sisterhood, and also has involved girls. A lot of girls that go into rush very genuinely and are not looking for a very cutthroat experience seem to really find their home in KD and love it. Tri Sig participated in formal recruitment last year, and was not very popular unfortunately. The girls seem very genuine, but a lot of girls choose to drop rather than go Tri Sig this past year.


Final Thoughts:
Keep in mind these rankings definitely change from year to year as sometimes sororities will get a really good PC. Last year, Theta and Tri Delt did really well for top sororities, APhi, DG, and Zeta, did well for the middle sororities, and SK did well for the lower tier. Again, rush is definitely more about finding friends that are your vibe and that will make your college experience better, but these are helpful on how others view sororities at UVA overall.
