University of Massachusetts Amherst - UMA Greek Life Reviews

Here's the deal with UMass Greek life: Very small percentage. About 11% of a 30,000 student school. However, it is good for what it offers. There are some really nice sorority houses and decent fraternity houses, and you get the best social life compared to GDI's. If you're a guy, parties besides day drinks are hard to come by at UMass. Being in a fraternity gives you a great party scene depending on what chapter you belong to. Same goes for sororities. Greek is good, fine if not ur thing

theres honestly like two or three good frats and sororities at mass the rest suck

Im from the west, currently a UMass student. I was rushing frats in high school (that's how it works in the west)and have wanted to go greek forever. However, I was beyond let down by Greek life here and almost feel robbed of the experience. If you want to join greek life do it. I am in a greek house here and still have a blast, its still a good time. Just don't expect it to be like the west/south. Its still greek life but you wont be getting the same experience as the west/south. Tbh had I known this I would not have gone to school here but I digress. I do not regret joining greek life here and love every second of it. I don't want to discourage you from rushing. I suppose this is a heads up to kids like me
