sorority legacy?

by: legacy

How hard is it to get into any of the sorority houses as a legacy, mainly DG, GPhi, Chio, and Tri delt, if you don't know any of the girls already in the house?
Which houses cut more often if you don't know any of them before rush?

I'm a chi-0 leg. I got cut, and I had a 3.28 coming in

Personally knew several legacies that got cut, it didn't seem to make a difference. One even had a letter of recommendation, but she was out of state so she had that going against her. GPhi and Chio are awful houses anyway you don't want in one of them. Knowing girls already in the house will be way more important than being a legacy.

You will have better luck in any of the houses but they cannot guarantee a bid.

I wanted to add that the likeness of them honoring your legacy is somewhat dependent on the number of girls who are rushing FFR14, which I am unsure of.

Basically a legacy means very little at KU. You won't be a slam dunk. Like that other girl said, having friends in the house is way more likely to get in a certain house.

GPhi and Chi O will be the hardest of these to get into. If you have good grades & make good conversation you'll be ok

Abouthow many legacies get cut from a house in general at KU? Less than half? If they are in somewhat good standing with grades and are outgoing and physically attractive.

I think you'll be fine. It's just people don't honor the tradition as strictly as in the South where the majority of pledge classes are all actually legacies.

^true,in the south you are guaranteed if you are a legacy. At KU it doesn't make much of a difference. Lots of legacies get cut. Don't get your heart set on a certain house. Realize that no matter what house you get the girls are going to be awesome and you will have a great experience either way. Don't listen to girls who say one house is bad or one is good. All houses are good all have great girls. The tiers only exist in the minds of the girls who want to claim top status. They really aren't.

Chi Omega at KU doesn't consider you a legacy unless you are a legacy to their chapter. Women who thought they were legacies have gone their on pref night and were not put to the top of the bid list because they weren't truly considered a legacy. Having specific connections in houses will often carry more weight at KU rather than simply being a legacy. And it isn't just who you know, but who your parents know.

REALLY hard to get into chi o, pretty damn hard to get into g phi, hard to get into dg, tri delt isn't an automatic in, but they're really not that hard to get into. G phi is the house most likely to cut you if you don't know anyone in the house. It's not unheard of, just not likely
