If the girl is representing her sorority (wearing letters or whatever), it would be bad for her to act rude because that then reflects on the group as a whole. This can be said about any greek organization really, with increased occurrences strengthening this association. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's right to pass that kind of judgement on an entire organization solely based on one individual, but it's also the responsibility of said individual to represent their fraternity/sorority well.
