Sorority Recruitment GPA Requirements

by: CUBoulderBoundFall2026

Does anyone know the typical GPA cutoffs for individual sororities at CU? Do chapters use the unweighted GPA from our high school transcript, or do they recalculate it? I'm trying to figure out my options with a 3.4 GPA.

unweighted bc not all schools weight gpa. my house is 3.5 but it varies by chapter.

What houses are 3.5+ versus ones that might be lower 3's?

Regardless of your gpa you aren’t going to be able to figure out your options until rush begins. You could get dropped off of your video if you aren’t deemed a good fit. There are so many more variables that go into rush than just gpa. Be confident in yourself and show your personality in your video, and then your GPA won’t matter as much. Don’t go into rush only wanting a certain house, keep an open mind and you will have the best experience.

I agree with the spirit of your comment, however, gpa minimum requirements are not negotiable (usually from nationals), so you can’t say “gpa won’t matter as much” because the pnm will already have been dropped by the house’s internal system before the members even start viewing videos if they don’t make the cutoff.

Bottom line is that at this point gpa’s won’t change much, so the pnm’s should just go into rush with an open mind and they will find their home.

agree with this- gpa does matter. It’s how most first round drops are determined. That being said, there is nothing anyone is probably going to do about their high school gpa at this point so why worry?

It’s really hard to find specific chapter GPA requirements, however panhel recommends 3.0 and above in order to be competitive during the rush process.
Also keep in mind that the average GPA for all sorority women is around about 3.3 which is higher than the GPA for all women at CU. So the higher your GPA is, the better your chances are at being successful during rush.
