Thoughts on Theta
by: boulderi hate to be that guy but i would like to say that theta has been given a better reputation on this sight than it is irl. a ton of my friends are in theta and they can agree, the house is very isolated from all the others, a great majority of the girls are very much granola very much lesb, and they barely mixed with frats. when i went through rush, the girls talking to me were very nice but definitely very quirky, and i think if you are purely ranking the sororities on a popularity and social scale they would not pass chi o, kappa, and axo. just my opinion

As a theta I think this post is pretty reductive and it makes me sad to think people take that reputation to heart. We have pretty decent Greek relations with sororities and frats here, and had a lot of fun mixers the last two years. I also don’t think you actually know any thetas if you still think we’re all weird lesbians, because honestly I know more lgbtq girls in other sororities than my own. Also we all love being thetas, there’s a reason we have the highest retention on the hill.

I’m not in theta but I have a lot of friends who are and I see this post as someone trying to put down a house that is actually a great house. As someone else said, while yes there are some lesbians in the house, there’s literally some in any house, and probably more in others imo. Theta has a rep of being very inclusive which is amazing but also ends up getting them this rep which is disgusting. All my friends in theta also aren’t super granola, and I think a main reason a lot of them ended up there over dg, chi o, or Axo (which was where most of their other pref options were) is because they didn’t care about rank or didn’t know about rank going in
