dropping

I actually only got invited back to Gamma Phi although I feel like I had incredible conversations at three of my other houses. I was shook when none of them wanted me and I'm very confused on the imperfect processes. Can I get a show of hands of those in similar position as me?
Also, to be clear this post does not mean to indicate any tone of superiority above any houses. I just simply thought that after hearing stories of girls who "found their home the time they stepped into the house" I would find mine too. However, this feeling obviously isn't mutual. I feel like at the end of the day it just boils down to Berkeley having too many people and the chapters just had to make cuts. On the other side, it was evident that a KKG was telling her sister during Unity Day how the pledge class was "already chosen" so what was the point.
I didn't come in wanting a particular house, I was rejected by 7 out of the 12 from the first round, and I'm not being selective. Now, it just boiled down to one, and I didn't find genuine connection here so I'm dropping. There won't be another chance as I am a junior, but it was still interesting to go through the process and see its faults.
That's my story, and I want to hear some of others who felt the same way, or perhaps with a different perspective.

Release Figures Management or RFM is the reason so many women are getting cut early from so many houses. The more popular a house is, the fewer people they are allowed to invite back to each round. To get (example) 50 people to show up to a party, Pi Phi probably only needs to invite 50 people because most everyone wants that invite and will say yes. Gamma phi on the other hand might need to invite twice or three times that. It sounds snap judgmental I know, but the fact is it’s better than when the top sororities could string someone along till pref making them think they wanted them (as all top sororities are good at that). The PNM cuts the groups that might ACTUALLY want her and then ends up with nothing on bid day.
So the minute you don’t get asked back, you need to put that house in the rear view because maybe they did like you, but not enough to invite you over someone else.

@123 mentions her feeling of belonging to particular groups was not mutualized. It's too bad some women will have their feelings hurt in this manner, but recruitment is often thought of as mutual selection and thus 123 was shown her mutual match here was not to be.

The NPC's RFM Method of placing pnms is the reason UCB is not able to use a non-gty method during formal recruitment. I heartily suggest those who have posted on UCB GR pages regarding their strong distaste for all things RFM (because they do not enjoy meeting 1000 pnms and having to bid 50 of them when they feel only 25 are worth their chapter's time and efforts) best become more panhellenic women in order to eventually move-up into their NPC group's panhellenic exec board, which might guarantee one of them the NPC Chairmanship at some future point whereby they may rant all they want against RFM and possibly change the mutually agreed upon NPC RFM rules.
