Sigma Chi - ΣΧ Fraternity at University of California, San Diego - UCSD 4.5 It's so sad how people can spew hate against an entire group of individuals because of the alleged actions of a few. I hope before people continue to write nasty posts they think about how they would feel if someone they knew was accused of a crime and in turn they were harassed. I hope that light is shed on the situation and victims of any crimes receive justice, however I encourage people on this platform to not engage in a mob mentality and instead wish the best for victims as well as members of this chapter who knew nothing of the situation at hand and are receiving all these hurtful words. It is not right to speak on matters, especially ones like this, or spread rumors, when we do not know the full situation.

Sigma Chi - ΣΧ Fraternity at University of California, San Diego - UCSD 5.0 A lot of this seems like misdirected anger. You can't judge 100 people based off the actions of only a few people. You can't also judge the actions of a few people without letting them face their accusers and not providing ample evidence in the name of anonymity. You also can't play judge, jury, and executioner in these types of complex situations. You also can't spread rumors and defame entire organizations. Nobody is invalidating the stories of those affected by some of the people in the Sigma Chi chapter here at UCSD. However, there needs to be an appropriate balance of accountability but also justice and due process. Rash tirades and unfounded accusations will only delegitimize and undermine the valid argument that there needs to be a culture change. However, this goes beyond Sigma Chi and you cannot simply make an example of one fraternity at the expense of innocent people who would never dare commit any of the allegations there are being accused of.
