Kappa Alpha Theta - ΚΑΘ Sorority Ratings at UCSC

Ok I don’t like feeding into all the hate and would normally just ignore these comments because they don’t deserve the attention they’re getting. But it seems to me that the real bullies are the ones calling out girls on social media from behind an anonymous platform. You say these girls exclude you but I can almost guarantee you that if you asked to hangout with them or invited them to hangout with you they would be thrilled. But instead you chose jealousy and hateful cyber bullying. Theta is full of wonderful girls who are extremely welcoming and outgoing. It’s sad that a few people are trying to ruin the reputation of so many.

As someone who has been a member for 4 years I can honestly say that Theta is one of the most positive things that has happened in my life. Every org has their strong and weak points, but Theta has helped me waaaaay more than it hasn’t. Every chapter has a bit of drama and every chapter has lots of different kinds of girls but the one thing that has remained constant throughout my time in the chapter is that Thetas actually come through when you need them. I’ve noticed that those who feel like the org is rejecting them are often people who miss a lot of mandatory stuff and get pissed when they miss important info and decide that the chapter is out to get them. I’m in no special house and I’m not “popular”, but I have felt the Theta love through and through

Please don’t let these hurtfully biased comments fool you. No matter what org you join, you get what you put in. If you go in with an open mind and really try to get involved and find people you vibe with, you will. Because of theta I was able to become friends with the most genuine and caring girls. I truly consider them my sisters, and for that I will always be thankful and proud that I joined theta. There are so many girls in this org and yes we are very diverse. So don’t let these comments of a small group of girls become a representation of the org as a whole.

I came here as a transfer student not knowing a single person. I have struggled with severe social anxiety for most of my life so it was difficult to throw myself into a sorority to say the least, let alone come to a new school. However, I kept showing up to events and I eventually met some amazing, genuine girls. I was very awkward at first but I kept trying and eventually, I felt like I had a home here in theta. I can honestly say that theta saved me, and if you give it a chance, you might meet some of your best friends. I’m sorry to those who have had negative experiences but none of the girls you have listed are bullies; they are amazing, genuine women. many of them are very open to meeting new people if you just reach out. :)

When I first joined theta I wasn’t very active, in fact after a year of being involved I still wasn’t I was not doing great in school and wasnt happy in sc. I was ready to call it quits and go back home, I decided to put myself out there and get more involved and I’m the process I found women who have helped me to become the beautiful, smart women I am right now! I am thankful for that’s for being my family since mine is so far away and saving me from my depression. There are of course issues as there is in every org because not everyone agrees on the same things. But I thank god every day for giving me these women because honestly without I don’t think I would be alive right now and if I was I would not have the confidence that I do in myself right now! These women are my safe haven!

All I'm going to say is that I personally have found a huge support group in theta. Was it hard to come out of my comfort zone and talk to them? Yes but that was my personal issue that I had to overcome. Not everyone is able to come out of their comfort zone to talk to people but I know for a fact that some of the girls in theta have definitely made me feel welcomed. I've gained more than a dozen girls I can count on to help me with issues when I've felt down. The select few who have felt like they don't belong, I apologize. Just know that there are a lot of wonderful women in this organization and don't let the opinions of others cloud your personal opinion. This year calls for a lot of change and we can only hope to make it better. Much love <3

Okay, all these negative posts are making me want to say something. I’m not in this org but am friends with a large amount and have gone to sooo many events for them. Yes people may seem clique-y but you are going to get that in every single group you find. In a group of 100+ people you’re not gonna be BFFs with every single person (I’m not in my own). The girls I have met/interacted with have always been nice and amazing to me, even if they don’t really know me they try to and continue conversation with me to make me feel welcome at events. You’re gonna get low participation for the first couple of years for an organization because they are still getting over the rep of being a new org. I see them at so many different Greek events all over campus (probably more than others including my own). The girls who do participate try their damn hardest. I’m sorry that you feel bullied, as someone who has feel extremely excluded from things I can understand your feelings, but I suggest either considering dropping since you don’t feel comfortable in the org anymore (that’s not to be rude) or just distancing yourself from the people that make you feel excluded. There’s 100+ girls in the org, you are bound to find other friends and make the most of your situation. All this crap talking is just going to cause more unnecessary drama and bad atmosphere, be an adult and deal with the problem not through an anonymous screen 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷� ��‍♀️

Panhellenic love!! I have met some of my best friends through Panhellenic and in theta. Don’t judge them by this petty site. They have raised hundreds-thousands for their philanthropy for only being 3 years old at UCSC . Also, they are very school orientated and offer many leadership potentials! Best of luck to them and the rest of Panhellenic for their upcoming recruitment!

It’s really disappointing to see all the negative reviews theta is getting. Judging based on the thetas I’ve met they seem friendly and definitely support the other orgs as well. GLOs should stick together considering how much Greek life is already stigmatized rather than bullying one another and bringing down all of our reputations

I love these girls with my all my heart. Super genuine and honest women. They’re also really smart and easy to get along with. A lot of the reviews recently have been bashing the org and honestly I don’t agree with a lot of them. These women are pretty awesome!
