Sorority Sterotypes
by: pnm2026As a PNM what are the stereotypes/ranking for the sororities? Genuinely curious and want to know what im getting into before rush...

You will get plenty of opinions here but I would say give all houses a chance. I personally know of people who got their "bottom" choice and wound up loving their sorority and I also know of a few who got a "top house" and did not find connection there after Bid Day and felt like it was not a good fit. AU sororities are huge w pledge classes over 100 people so chances are you will find friends in whichever sorority you join. The goal is to be happy in the long run not just on bid day good luck

What you are "getting into" is that the so-called 'ranks' and 'stereotypes don't matter for pnm's, and anyone who goes into recruitment with that mindset will have a TERRIBLE rush. This is because the sororities are doing the choosing, not you as a pnm. Each sorority has their own vibe, which you will experience for yourself at the chapters that invite you to their parties, and not all of them will invite you back, not by a long shot. You need to be looking for a solid sisterhood where you feel at home (which is found in every single sorority here) and not for a set of letters for some kind of imagined personal branding. Don't set yourself up for disappointment with 'ranks' and 'stereotypes'.
