what do top houses look for

Some houses will vote on the girls they are unsure of and they use your picture to show who you are. The pic matters. Of course this is only like a third of the houses that vote together. Your grades letters and involvement will get you back to round two, but past that be charming and beautiful.

Rec letters definitely matter for round 1. And being a legacy doesn't typically get you a bid, you'll probably just be automatically kept for at least a few rounds. Most houses go much more off of you than your lineage.

Just be good looking. It is 100% the only thing that separates the houses into the tier system. Every house has girls who have amazing grades & love to be involved - it's UF!! And also agreed with the post above, letters of rec do not matter AT ALL. Maybe through 1st round but that's all you got.

Look pretty, classy, and well put together, like you could be attending brunch with Blair Waldorf. Be warm and avoid awkward small talk, don't seem intimidated. Focus on actual substance. Remember you're flirting with girls. Make sure you have a letter of rec (it'll get you a little more attention usually, and help for a successful round one), and have your extracurriculars stacked but meaningful (especially stress any leadership- mostly student government). Don't stress about getting top tier though. While it is a nice little title to have, if you don't fit, you don't fit, and there's nothing wrong with that. It does not mean you are any less of a person. And, it's much better to go where you feel most comfortable and where you feel like you would actually look forward to spending the next four years at. Once you're on campus, you'll realize that to most people, tiers don't actually matter much.

I loved this. Perfect advice. Also, the only difference between the tiers is the guys they hang out with. If you're of an average attractiveness level and you go middle tier, you'll fit right in will super cool gals that you love. You'll be able to stand out at the parties you go to and meet great guys who think you're the bomb. If you go top and you're just average, it'll still be fine but you'll be surrounded by beautiful women when you go to parties and you'll get tired of feeling average.
This is long winded but basically it's best to be surrounded by people you fit in with for lots and lots of reasons. There are super amazing people in all tiers. We're all Panhellenic women after all!

make sure during the first round you wear white shorts with a bright pink thong. carry a pack of cigarettes with you too so you can offer them to the other girls when you are trying to make conversation.
