So what happens if a girl has more than one and has to pick one? does that mean they move down the list or what?

You pick which bid you want to take and which sorority you would like to join, unlike fall where it is a system.

I think what she is asking is if a chapter only gives out a certain number of bids, and that girl got multiples, would the chapters she declined move down a list and offer another girl a bid?

Here is my guess at how the system works:

Chapter A, Chapter B, and Chapter C participate in Spring Recruitment. 100 girls go through recruitment. Chapter A can take 10 girls, Chapter B can take 7, and Chapter C can take 20. All three chapters submit a list of girls they are willing to give bids to, in preferential order. Let's say all three chapters bid Sally. Sally gets a call saying she has received bids from A, B, and C and she tells them which chapter she would like to accept her bid from. She might have 24 hours to notify them or whatever, but most of the time Sally knows where she wants to go and tells them immediately. She picks A, and is crossed off the lists from B and C, and they can offer a bid to one more girl, 8th and 21st girl on their respective lists. If she does not accept any bid, A can now bid the 11th girl on their list as well. This process continues until every girl who has received a bid has been notified. Let's say Chapter C ends up with 18 girls. They have two spots open, which is when snap bids happen. They can pick two girls who they did not bid to offer two bids, and then those girls are called and offered bids so that C fills their open spots. My guess is it is taking longer to figure out who got bids from which chapter and they can't really let you know if you didn't get a bid until after all bids have been given out and all spots filled in case a chapter decides to snap bid.

I hope this made sense.
