To the REAL SIG EPS of Fraternity Alpha, this new "Balance Man" colony will be a complete train wreck, but then again, so is the National themselves.

SigEp is getting ready to change the fraternity landscape AGAIN. We're introducing a revolutionary mobile app to help us implement our Balanced Man Program, leading to more successful brothers and stronger chapters. 100% of our Florida Alpha brothers have already committed to donating $19.01 to the SigEp Hoop of Steel Society to support the #‎BMPapp.

HAHAHAHA....The fastest way to sign up every goober at UF and give them letters. What an embarrassment to the Real Sip Eps of Florida Alpha. Already this colony is a joke and a half.

Florida Alligator, "Sig Ep fraternity chapter closed"

It became clear that there were members in the chapter who did not join for the right reasons and were opposed to making the necessary changes. Leader lacked confidence to make those tough decisions themselves and resisted outside support to create a positive fraternity experience that aligned with the educational mission of the university.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity
Meeting of the National Board of Directors - April 8 and 9, 2016

Substance-Free Housing

The Board discussed the report and how substance-free policy would best be implemented and enforced. National Director Kief moved the Board to mandate substance-free facilities at all newly chartered chapters moving forward. Seconded by National Director Cynthia Love. Motion passed by unanimous 12-0 vote.

Warren confirmed that discussions will continue and a suggested plan of action for fraternity-wide substance-free facilities adoption and budget implications will be presented at the fall meeting.

It's not becoming a Dry Fraternity because we don't even have an official Chapter House right this year so make sure your information is precise and second that's been talked about but not voted on within our nationals or finalized. Don't take misinformation and just run with it.

Q: What about alcohol free? Does that apply to us? Will we always be alcohol free?

A: When the chapter has a house, it will be alcohol free. Every reorganized colony of SigEp that has a chapter house is required to have an alcohol-free facility by the Board of Directors. This does not mean the chapter cannot have social functions with alcohol present, but the event must follow all guidelines of the Fraternity's risk management policy and be hosted by a registered third party vendor away from the chapter house.

by: LMAO

It looks sick now and will be even worst when the "New" Irrelevant Sig Eps move in. Honestly, it would serve better if GDI's took the house used it for parties, BC this "New" group wouldn't.

There's a new attitude that will respect the house, as it will be an extension of campus. More that 90 percent of student life occurs outside the classroom and SigEp is committed to providing learning opportunities in a safe environment at 5 Fraternity Row.

@2 what you are describing is that Sig Ep will turn their house into a seminary for good little Christian boys. It would be better to just join a service or academic fraternity, then Sig Ep.

Not sure where you get your information but to set the record straight SigEp's Balanced Man Program actually delays the full initiation of a new member well beyond when that happened under the old pledge program. A pledge program consists of 6 to 10 weeks of learning nonsense facts and includes very little if any further development or education once initiated. The Balanced Man Program is a 4 year development program that sets a young man up for success for his life after college. The chapter is rebuilding after removing members for not living up to SigEp ideals and principles. Sig Ep is one of the nations leading fraternities and if a chapter is not living up to the principles of the fraternity, we will take action like we did at UF. It will be done right or it will be closed.

I've heard their pledging process is really soft, like some of the kids wish they were treated like more of a pledge.

For those of you former SigEps who are posting, did you serve on your exec board? Run your recruitment? Work with your AVC? Attend Carlsons? Ruck? Applied to Quest to Greece? Thinking of joining a national committee?

Because it seems to me that you're awfully good at talking about what you perceive to be wrong, so you should do something about it. I'm curious as to whether or not you've tried to change it, or you just like talking about it. The thing that most people seem to forget is that Headquarters does not run SigEp. SigEps run Headquarters.

And if you have an issue with how something is run, is it more effective to point out shortcomings or partake in leadership?

The only man that keeps you down is you.
