rush
by: pnmSo i heard there's like 2,000+ girls going through recruitment this year, which makes me wonder how many girls each sorority will be taking. Do the sizes of the pledge classes increase with an increase in the number of girls rushing? If any current sorority members have any insight about this, it would be a big help! thanks! ps sorry if this is a confusing post lol I'm just really really curious

It is very rare that girls are completely crosscut out of recruitment. Granted, you may not get to go to all 12 houses during round 2 (or 7 in round 3...etc.), but surely you will make it back to some houses. I think the largest newly initiated pledge class from Fall 16 was 75, and I think it was Zeta, but I could be wrong. The average new pc last year was from 70-80, as some girls may dropped before initiation. Don't worry about the number of girls going through recruitment. Try to put your best foot forward and good luck with recruitment y'all!

^ Not quite.
There's a quota for bids that they will give out. And it is the number of girls preffed/# of houses.
When you hear of girls not getting bids, it is because they are released early, or because they were crosscut by houses. Therefore, not all houses meet quota, and some houses give out snap bids (bids to girls that were cut from recruitment given last minute to try and reach quota).
Basically, the more girls that go through recruitment, the more larger the PC.
