by: PNM 2015I know DG has a strong presence in Florida in general. My gmom was a DG (not at UF) will it still help me that I'm a legacy? Also, is Greek Life at UF pretty Southern? Btw I consider being Southern a positive thing. Thanks y'all!

They are known for having a strong presence in FL, but DG has slipped a bit here at UF. Definitely still one of the better sororities here, but there will be people quick to critique but people do that to EVERY sorority so don't let anyone's opinions influence you. As far as being southern, some sororities here are divided into pretty southern and pretty south FL. Of those, DG is more SoFla, so if being really southern is important to you there might be a better option. BUT there are tons of different kinds of girls in every house so that doesn't mean you won't find southern girls in SoFla chapters. being a legacy normally helps you get invited back once, but if you aren't what the chapter is looking for, legacy won't get a bid. It is like this with most every sorority.
