TOR-SCORE CREATOR-WHY
by: FAX
My pseudo name is Monta Backe (aka FAX on Greek rank) and I am the creator of the TOR-Score which debuted exclusively at UF on January 26, 2020. I have never been a part of Greek life here or anywhere, although my significant other is very involved. After listening and reading many months to nonsense regarding tiers and what drives them, I decided to create the TOR-Score. TOR shows other aspects of Greek life that were off the radar from most members and future pledges. It is but one tool to use when deciding which house to join and should never take the place of a personal visits to each house.
TOR-Score (Total Objective Ranking Score) is an objective measurement based on all public information/data available. It is presently derived from 4 sources and will be an ever-changing ranking for all to see. Although the TOR totals are based on 4 data points (added Dance Marathon), other sources may be added in the future. Dance marathon results for March 2020 have been added to the previous charitable contributions total. GPA and Active Member categories will be replaced and totaled as they become available. The calculation consists of all charitable contributions plus Dance Marathon results are 100% weighted as is the GPA results - Active members are 10% weighted.

this is THE factor in deciding sorority ranks bc it measures selectivity and likability. top houses are top because they have like less than 10 girls dropping them in round one (out of 1500+ girls rushing) so they HAVE to cut lots of girls. Houses in the bottom tier are considered bottom tier because they sometimes struggle to make quota, are more likely to be dropped by PNMs, and have to cut less girls. they are just not as liked or wanted by most PNMs. it doesnβt mean that they donβt do better than other houses in areas such as sisterhood or academics. itβs just a matter of selectivity.
