factors in sorority rushing?

Hi, I was curious about sorority rushing for next fall (2020), I will be a sophomore. I wondered if sororities actually care about your GPA and current involvement on campus/beyond and take that into consideration or if they just care about how hot you are. I am scared that because I am not a tall super skinny model that I won't get into a super involved sorority because they all seem to be "top tier" which is basically based on how you look. Thank you for any insight :)

Looks do play a large role. However, they do look at your involvement and GPA and also evaluate you based on the conversations you have with the girl rushing you to see if your personality fits well with the other members on the chapter. You should definitely rush though, trust the process! You might end up in a sorority that you really love that’s also super involved :) good luck

depends on the sorority but largely based on looks and personality, they don’t want girls who aren’t going to fit in with the current girls so personality is a huge factor too. looks are a big factor too.

Most sororities care about looks to some extent (being out together, looking like you tried, etc.), but imo personality is more important. Involvement really helps bc sororitys always are competing to be the most involved. GPA also matters, but not as much to some. Rushing in spring might be better if you are concerned about looks.
