snap bids
by: PnmGot dropped from the houses that I liked and ended up dropping rush. I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight on snap bids. Like which houses usually offer snap bids, how to get one etc. I am a junior and I dont know that many people in sororities

A snap bid is when you get a bid after you didn't pref there but still had houses you prefer at, a COB is a bid you get after recruitment, you can get it regardless if you were dropped. I'd maybe recommend talking to your friends in sororities about getting a COB and maybe ask the VP of recruitment if there are still spots, but it's gonna be doubtful. Most chapters meet their quotas during fall rush. Maybe rush in the spring when sisters either go inactive, drop, or graduate and chapters are needing to fill spots to meet quota.

It's so sad when PNMs drop out of recruitment. There are over 250 women in most chapters at UF. You would have found a supportive friendship group now matter where you landed. Plus you can always check a house out until initiation. If you are a junior, you probably blew your best chance to join Greek life. UF is an amazing place with lots of opportunities. I'm sure you will find another organization to become a part of. Don't count on Snap bids or COBs.
