No, they are not allowed to begin building for at least 2 more years.

no idea when it's due (generally not much more than a year), but I know they have a lot and a plan for it. It's going to be built next to pi phi on frat row, and it's obviously going to be enormous.

Don’t know why you got dislikes, that’s all true. I could see people thinking you’re self ranking with that last bit, but it actually is going to be huge.

I saw Alpha Phi on the doors to Jackson Square behind the standard- what’s that about?

Since they don’t have a house that’s where they meet to hangout, have events and dinners and stuff until they build their house

i really don’t think they can even build immediately as they still don’t know if their colonization will be successful? their numbers seem good rn for a new chapter but we’ll have to wait to see how they do this rush and if they can continue to retain members. they’ve been here less than a year, and i doubt their nationals will build a huge new house until they stabilize a little in maybe 2 years. best of luck in formal recruitment tho, aphi!

The speculations people are making are an attempt to draw people away from alpha phi, which is really mean-spirited. All of the information is available online. Alpha phi’s house is already in the planning stages, they already have the lot where it’ll be built, and the blueprints are already done. They’ll likely start building this year.

Alpha phi get off of this site. It’s UF’s rules that houses cannot be built until the chapter is at quota for at least two years. Stop posting fake information.

Unless you got a source to back that up I'm calling shenanigans. I'm in a frat, and some of the chapters here have like 20-30 guys and they have a house. Panhellenic has 0 say on Alpha Phi's nationals, and even less on UF administration, so their "quotas" are meaningless when it comes to land development on a lot Alpha Phi has already obtained the rights to.

It’s outlined in the Policy Expansion for Social Sororities and Fraternities that can be viewed from the SFA. 2 years minimum at quota to build for sororities. It’s different if you’re buying a house from a former fraternity/sorority as the other frats on campus have done that are not at quota. (Such as TEP’s old house)

They already have one year at quota, so their statement that they're going to start building after this spring is not inaccurate. Not sure what you're trying to prove.

If you actually read the document, it says that the sorority must charter WITHIN two years, not after two years, to maintain in good standing. Alpha Phi is already well-established. They got like 130 new members last year. So there is 0 problem with them beginning construction this year.

Is there any update on this? I heard the City shut down the build site and would not permit ut. Are they building a house?
