Well it's probably because the news only shows what some stupid greek life kids do, and not all the really beneficial stuff they do. National news will never show how UF greek life raises over a million dollars for DM probably, throw their own philanthropies, and do service events, but they will show in a split second how a fraternity got kicked off for doing something stupid. UF probably doesn't want to be in the national spotlight for something like that, even if greek life brings millions of dollars into the local economy.

Even since the Beta death incident at Penn State last semester, every IFC/PAN at other schools are being more observant and aware of what is happening in their Greek Community, what events Greeks are holding whether it be appropriate or not and who(s) is violating policies that may put a negative light on the Greeks. It is going to be a very interesting school year overall, but one that will hope be safe for all Greeks and PNM's.
