wanting one sorority
by: PNMI really want to get a bid from one chapter in particular that I'm a legacy at (it's middle tier). Do you have any tips on how to avoid being cut? Does it all come down to the conversation you have with one girl during each round?

I know a lot of people are going to come in here saying to go in with an open mind, but if you're pretty much set on one house, that advice isn't going to change your mind.
- You're a legacy so you already have a slight advantage in that you're probably going to make it to the second round. Use this advantage by making good connections with the girls who rush you
- Look presentable. Seriously, look your absolute BEST self.
- Keep your social media clean.
- Be memorable for good reasons. Don't talk about anything inappropriate (partying, boys, politics, religion, etc.) but be fun to talk to.
- Make it apparent that you enjoy being there! Smile, be enthusiastic.
- But not too overly excited to be there. It can come off a little bit creepy lol

Why do you only want 1 sorority out of 17?? This is very narrow minded and could hurt you during rush because people may sense this. You really need to go in being more open.
The selection process is a secret to each sorority so you will not learn how it's done until you are a member.
In summary, look your best, be enthusiastic and talkative, ask questions, and be friendly and outgoing. I if you are very shy, it may be hard and don't be fake.

Another thing to be weary about is if the house doesn't meet your expectations or you find that feeling of belonging in another house, don't be afraid to let go of your legacy. If you fit in and love the girls, go for it. But maximize your options and give each house a solid effort so you don't put yourself in a corner come prefs!
