is it true that at ZTA during rush when you walk in a girl will throw a number behind her back to rate the PMN based on looks when she comes in?

pretty much every house judges solely on looks at least the first round or two. unless you are average looking and have the best personality in the world to make them adore you they pretty much are only concerned with how you look. certain houses may do looks the whole way through but pretty much everywhere is only judging looks at the start.
