rushing top fraternities

I'm an out of state student that knows no on at UF or going there so does that put me at a disadvantage when rushing fraternities like sigma chi or ato? How hard is it to get a bid from fraternities like these if I have no connections to the school?

You don't need connections to get bids. If you're a good looking kid, have a good personality, and aren't weird with girls, you'll get a bid at one of the top tier fraternities.

It kind of does but it depends from where you are from and if you can find connections with the brothers

It really does matter for some places. Even though the idea is that if you're cool they'll give you a bid, you will naturally see some fraternities that have large groups of guys from the same area like So Flo, or Jacksonville, or out of state etc. People that connect with them usually get the bids.
