I am assuming you are referring to PNMs talking bad about say XYZ house? This is called 'tent talk' in rush lingo and can really negatively impact the rush experience. You should ignore this all together and make up your own mind. All houses at UF ate strong so be your own judge.

It can be really hard to drown out the tent talk that goes around during recruitment. I agree with "tent talk" that this can have a negative impact on your rush experience. Try to go against the heard mentality and make up your own mind about where you feel most comfortable. The worst thing is to end up at a house based on other's opinions to later discover you just don't fit in and probably should have listed houses in a different order. Girls post on here every year after bid day about how they feel they don't fit in and want to drop. Trust your gut, it will never lead you wrong.

That is really too bad. I think you need to cross those houses of your list or rank them lower. That never happened to me so I'm surprised.
You should probably just try to change the subject or say something like " I'm really here to hear all of the positive things about YOUR house"
